OBERLIN, Kansas-- Joan H. Noble, 94, of Oberlin, died Monday (Nov. 19, 2012), at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
She was born March 1, 1918, to Mathias and Elizabeth (Huss) Hartner in Herndon, Kansas. She attended school in Herndon and business school in Grand Island, Nebraska.
She married Frank Noble Jr. on Dec. 23, 1941, in Grand Island. She resided in Grand Island and Hot Springs Village in Arkansas and Oberlin.
She was a payroll supervisor for the VA Hospital in Grand Island. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters, both Grand Island.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Elizabeth Hartner; husband, Frank Noble, Jr; daughter, Patricia Reese; and siblings.
Survivors include sons, Tom Noble (Celeste) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Rich Noble of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Mike (Elba) Noble of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters, Esther Pennington of Herndon and Rita Eckerdt of Loveland, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday, Nov. 24, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Assumption Church in Herndon with the Rev. Nick Parker officiating. Interment is at St. Mary's Cemetery, Herndon.
Visitation is Friday from 5-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service, all at the church in Herndon,
