CULBERTSON, Nebraska --Eileen Blanche McNeice Moore, 98, died Friday (Nov. 16, 2012), at the Lancaster Manor Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was born to Joseph and Rena (Brown) McNeice on Feb. 5,1914, in Hitchcock County. She married Harvey E. Moore, Jan. 14, 1936, in Norton, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harvey; son, Darryl; brothers, Dale, Winston, Berwyn (Jack) McNeice; sisters, Iris Gummere, Josephine Petersen, Mavis Petersen; Jesslyn Stubbs; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Rodney (Jeannine) Moore.
Survivors include son, Rodney, of Lincoln; daughter-in- law, Sue Moore, of Imperial; granddaughters, Tamara (Wade) Phillips, Lincoln; Kelly Jo (Ron) Simmons, Esterville, Iowa,; Kimberly
(Terry) Swanson, Goodlettsviile, Tennessee; Courtney Fetters, Ogallala; Shelia (Paul) Potrzeba, Northville, MI; Camela Moore, Esterville, Iowa, sister-in-law, Berniece McNeice, Sun City, Arizona; 14 great- grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen graduated from Culbertson High School class of 1931 and from Chaffey Junior College, Ontario, Canada in 1933.
Eileen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Culbertson. Eileen worked at Sehnert's Bakery for 33 years before retiring. She was well known for the cakes she decorated while working at the bakery.
Eileen enjoyed sewing for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren before becoming legally blind. Eileen has been residing at Lancaster Manor Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, since June 30, 2012.
She will be missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, Nebraska on Monday Nov. 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. with burial at the Culbertson Cemetery
In lieu of gifts or flowers, memorials can be sent in her name to the Alzheimer's Association or Gideons International.
Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook is in charge of arrangements.
