ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Ronald Dean Latham, 73, of Arapahoe, died Friday (Oct. 26, 2012), at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska.

He was born on Oct. 5, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Ernest and Leona (Seifert) Latham.

He grew up in Carter Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957- 1959. After his military duty, he attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He married Connie Kay Laumann on Dec. 5, 1965.

He retired from a life-long career in the fence business in 2001. Between 1972 and 2001, they lived in Omaha and Bennington. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Arapahoe in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Latham of Arapahoe; daughter, Lisa and husband, Jason Anderson of Arapahoe; sons, Scott Latham of Lincoln, Nebraska and Joseph Latham of Fort Carson, Colorado; brother, Gary and wife, Linda Latham of Henderson, Nevada; sister-in-law, Sharon and husband, Dennis Rosenbaum of Rock Port, Missouri and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at 1 p.m. at River Valley Evangelical Free Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with the Rev. Nathan Goshert officiating. Military rites given after service by the American Legion Post No. 343 of Edison, Nebraska. Inurnment will be at a later date.

No viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen.
