ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Helen Jean Walbridge, 93, of Arapahoe, died Monday (Oct. 22, 2012), at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1919, south of Kearney in Kearney County, Nebraska, to Joseph Franklin and Emma Senora (Sheckels) Needham.

After high school, Helen worked as a clerk for Union Pacific Railroad. On July 18, 1952, she married Addison Walbridge. They made their home in Lexington, Nebraska then moved to the Walbridge farm north of Edison, Nebraska, in 1958. They moved to Arapahoe in 1994. She later moved to the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center because of health reasons.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women of Arapahoe and the Turkey Creek Eveready Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and six sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Addison Walbridge of Arapahoe; son, Irvin and wife, Karen Walbridge of Edison, and John and wife, JoDee Walbridge of Arapahoe; daughter, Rhonda and husband, Jim Lakey of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Memorial services are Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, in Arapahoe with the Revs. Michael Flury and George Probasco officiating. Inurnment will be at the Kearney Cemetery in Kearney.

There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen
