Mary Margaret McGinley
AKRON, Colorado -- Mary Margaret McGinley, 80, died Sept. 12, 2012, at the Washington County Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 2, 1931, to Homer and Helen Jaeger on a farm outside of Imperial, Nebraska, in Chase County. She graduated from McCook High School in 1949 and worked as a telephone operator.
She married James A. McGinley in McCook on Nov. 11, 1950, and moved to Akron in 1952.
She was a stay-at-home wife and mother until 1974, when she worked as a secretary at the Y-W Electric Association. She retired in 1995 and she and her husband ran the Akron Teen Center from 1970-1980.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerald Jaeger and Stuart Jaeger.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Mike and wife, Rosemarie of Grandby, Colorado, daughter, Lynn, of Denver, Colorado, Tim and wife, Pam of Las Vegas, Nevada, Susan and husband, Leo of Las Animas, Colorado; brother, Eugene and wife, Charlene Jaeger of Arvada, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service was Sept. 17 in Akron.
Donations may be given to the Washington County Nursing Home or to the Akron Lions Club.
