McCOOK, Nebraska -- Violet Marie Tabor passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 95 years old.

Violet was born on Feb. 17, 1917, to Peter C. and Clara J. (Vinicky) Kucera. She graduated from Hayes Center High School with the class of 1934.

On Dec. 14, 1943, she was united in marriage to Frank E. Tabor at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. They made their home on a farm in rural Hayes County until their retirement at which time they moved to McCook. Violet taught school for many years in Hayes and Red Willow Counties.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook and Sacred Heart Catholic Church rural Hayes Center and their Altar Societies.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Peter and Clara Kucera; her husband Frank E. Tabor on April 5, 1996; brother, Vincent "Billy" Kucera; infant sister, Cecilia Kucera; and nephew Marion Petr.

Survivors include her nephews, Myron Petr and wife, Marlene, of Glenvil, and Robert Petr and wife, Charlene, of Hastings; nieces, Marilyn and husband, Jose Regueira, of Lincoln, Rose Marie and husband, Rodney Willmes, of Hastings and Roxana and husband, Joseph Silver, of Grand Island.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, 4-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences to the family.

Rosary will be recited Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery rural Hayes Center.
