Grant ceremony Friday at Keystone Business Center
McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook Community Foundation Fund (MCFF), an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, will conduct its annual grant ceremony at 5:30 p.m., Friday the Keystone Business Center in downtown McCook. At the ceremony, recipients from the various organizations and programs will receive the grants awarded by the Fund Advisory Committee of MCFF from its funds, including the Andy & Geri Anderson and C.T. & Helen Jewell Family Endowments. The general public is invited, and MCFF will be providing hors d'oeuvres and refreshments to those attending the program.
This year MCFF will be awarding over $30,000 in grant dollars throughout the community to a wide variety of charitable causes. Twenty-one organizations will be accepting their grants that afternoon, helping to fund several local community betterment projects and programs ranging from providing financial support for the Methodist Church's Thursday night suppers to the senior exercise programs at the Ed Thomas YMCA.
The afternoon will conclude with the MCFF drawing one of the Random Acts of Kindness entries and awarding a special $250 grant to the lucky organization selected by the individual submitting the chosen RAOK.
Again, everyone is invited and encouraged to attend to help celebrate our community of caring and to thank those unselfish volunteers and organizations that make such a tremendous positive difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors here in the McCook area.
