William "Bill" Rolla Van Wormer

EUGENE, Oregon -- William "Bill" Rolla Van Wormer passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. He was 58 years old.

He was born Nov. 9, 1953, at Mount Shasta, California, to Jack and Margaret Doreen (Bundy) Van Wormer.

He served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Germany.

He married Peg Haas Van Wormer Nov. 5, 1990, in Lake Tahoe, California.

His hobbies included hot rods, Harley Davidson motorcycles, snow skiing, his dogs, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill spent his last days in Eugene, Oregon, with his son, riding his Harley and spending time with his grandkids.

Former cities of residence include Shasta, California; Redding, California; Fort Bragg, California; Germany; Valdez, Alaska; Homer, Alaska; Jackson, California; McCook, Nebraska.

Survivors include wife, Peg Van Wormer; children, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tracy Knapp of Cottage Grove, Oregon, son, Jason Durigan of Sacramento, California, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lynette Knapp of Belchertown, Massachusetts, son, Daniel Linager of Alliance, Nebraska, daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Jeff Lytle of McCook, Nebraska, son, Jon Haas of McCook, six brothers, four sisters; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; many adopted friends and family

Services are Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at 19141 Olsen Lane in Fort Bragg, California.

A celebration of Life will be in McCook at a later date.

Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Grove, Oregon is in charge of arrangements.
