Furnas County 4-H members bring home 126 ribbons from Nebraska State Fair

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska -- The 2012 Nebraska State Fair was a memorable experience for Furnas County 4-H members, reports Noel Mues, Extension Educator. Thirty eight exhibitors brought back 27 purple, 71 blue and 28 red ribbons.
| Erin Conley, Wilsonville, was chosen as an alternate in this year's Celebration of Youth Exhibit: XVIII, Risk & Reward. Erin won this honor on her Knitting 3 Exhibit which was a multi-colored skirt that she hand knitted. Erin also received a purple and special recognition on her hand knitted tempest cardigan. |
Jordan Paine, Oxford, won second place Premier Exhibitor in the beef division. For her effort she received a $100 cash award sponsored by the Nebraska 4-H Foundation.
Furnas County won first place purple in large group Beef Herdsmanship.
