LOVELAND, Colorado -- Gloria Dahlin Sorgatz Hill passed away peacefully on Aug. 22, 2012, at Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, Colorado. Gloria was born on June 24, 1930, to Elmer and Gladys (Anderson) Dahlin on a farm outside of Beresford, South Dakota.
Gloria graduated from Okabena High School in Minnesota and Mankato State Teaching College, where she received her teaching certificate. She began teaching in Amboy, Minnesota, where she met her husband, Lloyd Sorgatz. They were married on June 17, 1951, and to this union two daughters were born, Rita and Rebecca. They moved to Loveland, Colorado, in 1960. Gloria sold real estate from 1964 until 1988.
On May 15, 1988, she married Ivan Hill. They enjoyed sharing their time between Loveland and Mesa, Arizona, for approximately 20 years. Gloria was a member of the Loveland Board of Realtors, Big Thompson PTA, Foothills-Gateway Auxiliary, various square dance clubs and numerous church organizations including the Gideon's.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, both of her parents, her brother-in-laws Arny Carlson and Wayne Sorgatz and sister-in-law Lois Carlson.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan; daughters, Rita (Randy) Horse of Chadron, Nebraska and Rebecca Sorgatz of Loveland; her sons, Rodney (Cathy) Hill of Loveland, Randy (Jan) Hill of Johnstown and Kevin (Alice) Hill of Loveland; grandsons, Rusty and Casey Hill of Loveland; granddaughters, Shannon (Scott) Sheldon and Jill (Brent) Prindiville, all of Loveland and their children; her brother, three sisters and their families.
Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Foothills-Gateway Rehab Center or Good Samaritan Village.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Service is 10 a.m., Tuesday, Loveland Good Samaritan Spiritual Life Center. Interment is at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
