OBERLIN, Nebraska -- Doris Margaret Auker, 85, died Friday (Aug. 17, 2012) in Oberlin.

She was born July 27, 1927, to Leonard James-Gillum and Margaret (Bowen) in Pontypool, South Wales. She was raised in South Wales. She lived in Yuma and Denver, Colorado from 1945-1983 then moved to Norcatur, Kansas.

She married Lyle G. Auker on Jan. 27, 1945 in Pontypool, South Wales. She was a store clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Margaret (Bowen) James-Gillum; husband, Lyle Auker Sr.; two brothers, Ken and Don James-Gillum; one sister, Joan Dunnett and one grandson, Evan Davies.

She is survived by her son, Lyle Auker Jr. of Norton,Kansas; daughers, Sandra and husband, Terry Gade of Norcatur; Lisa and husband, Gareth Davies of Oberlin; brothers, Graham and wife, Jean James-Gillum and Colin and wife, Jennifer James- Gillum of Pontypool; sister, Patricia and husband, Ron of Pontypool; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Nelson officiating. Interment is at the Norcatur Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of services, at Pauls Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given in her name.
