Michael Hartwell recently retired after 32 years of working throughout Nebraska. Most of the years were spent in McCook, as a carpenter for Shepherd Construction in McCook and as the Director of Physical Plant for McCook Community College. The last several years he worked as the Director of Facilities for Wayne State College and then Doane College. He lives in the Lincoln area, where he does volunteer work for the American Red Cross and travels, but plans on visiting and making his hometown of McCook a part time home, especially during hunting season and throughout the year to see family and friends.
