Irla C. Sutton

ARVADA, Colorado -- Irla C. Sutton, 93, died July 17, 2012 in Arvada, Colorado.

She was born June 13, 1919, in Stratton, Nebraska, to Irl Dodson and Ruth Ransom. Her father died shortly before her birth and she was later adopted by Elmer Ranson when he married her mother.

She was raised in Stratton where she later taught in a one-room school house.

On June 13, 1940, she married Donald I. Sutton. They moved to Colorado after he was discharged from the Army Air Corps.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald I. Sutton Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughter, RuthAnn Wagner; son, James B. Sutton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

A private inurnment will take place Aug. 3, at 11 a.m., at Fort Logan National Cemebery.
