MCCOOK, Nebraska -- Elithe Sylvia Little of McCook passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Cambridge Manor. She was 87 years old.

Elithe was born on Oct. 6, 1924, in Ord, Nebraska to Roy S. and Bessie Georgia (Pryor) Adams. She attended Ord Public Schools until the age of 12. The family moved to Cedar Bluffs, Kansas where she attended rural school and graduated from Oberlin High School.

On June 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to Alfred James "A.J." Little at Piggott, Arkansas. They moved to the McCook community in 1950 where they raised their children, Philip and LaVella. Elithe was a busy homemaker and mother as well as working for the telephone company as an operator from 1958 until her retirement in 1980.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Roy and Bessie Adams; husband, A.J. Little on March 2, 1996; granddaughter, Amanda Lea Farr; great-grandson, Tyson Avery Sayer; and brother and sister-in-law, Leroy Adams and wife, Boots.

Survivors include her children, LaVella and husband, Robert Farr, of Cambridge and Philip Little and wife, Jani, of McCook; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 1-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Friends may go online at to extend condolences to the family.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 12, 2012, 2 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
