July 23, 1967 - July 2, 2012

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Kimberly Ann Campbell of Holdrege, formerly of McCook, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 44 years old.

Kimberly was born on July 23, 1967, in Fullerton, California. At an early age she moved with her family to McCook where she attended McCook Schools.

She was united in marriage to Michael Jon Campbell on Jan. 21, 1999 in McCook. They made their home in McCook before moving to Holdrege where Kimberly was a busy mother and homemaker.

She was an avid coupon shopper and loved to scrapbook. She enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren and her pet sheltie, Sophie. On May 13, 1994, Kim walked into the AA house in McCook and started a new life of sobriety, which she maintained until the time of her passing. Nothing made Kim happier than parties and fellowship with members of the McCook AA group. Kim had an infectious laugh that was easily recognized by family and friends.

Preceding her in death was her grandfather, Warren Clarence "Clancy" Bales.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Campbell of Holdrege; children Jessica Wallace, Tyler Ohlson, Kelsey Ohlson all of Holdrege, Kori Ohlson of Fairbury, and David Campbell of Holdrege; two grandchildren, McKenzye Thomas and Kayden Reynolds; parents, Dick and Sue (Bales) Rima of McCook; Dad, Rod Wachholtz of Derby, Kansas; grandmother, Velma Bales of Gering; sisters, Kelly Torres of Dodge City, Kansas and Deb Walker of Farmington, New Mexico; numerous family and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2012, from 1-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, 305 West C st, McCook, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 7, 2012, 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 801 West 1st St, McCook, Nebraska, with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
