WAUNETA, Nebraska -- Joan Denker, 79, died Monday (June 18, 2012), in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Survivors include son, Kurt and wife, Minnie Denker of Harlingen, Texas; daughter, Michelle Sis of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one granddaughter, one step-grandson and one great-grandson.

Funeral services are Friday, June 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. (M.T) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural Wauneta, Nebraska, with the Revs. Keith Wellman and Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will immediately follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 6 p.m. (M.T) at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta.

A memorial has been established in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
