Piecemakers Quilt Guild will show work at 'Threads Across Nebraska'
McCOOK, Nebraska --The Piecemakers Quilt Guild met at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on Friday, June 8.
Bea Bauerle gave a lesson for a block that she and her daughter created. The block is very unique. It can be used in different directions to create many different looking quilts, depending on how they are arranged.
The afternoon business meeting was called to order by President Linda Richards. Nineteen members were present. Discussion took place about who will provide quilts to be displayed at Threads Across Nebraska, which will be Oct. 12-13 in Kearney Several members volunteered their quilts.
The meeting continued with discussion about the Nebraska State Fair. The club has been asked to volunteer to white glove during the event. Several members showed interest. Dates will be confirmed later.
Bea reported there were 58 attendees at the May Guest Day, which is a considerable larger number than in years past. The quilt guild would like to thank everyone who came to participate.
The members were reminded the Red Willow County Fair is July 27-31 this year. Bea Bauerle said that members and anyone else who has quilts they would like to display, must be entered for judging by July 25.
The next meeting will be the groups' annual Shop Hop on July 13. The members are meeting at a designated place and will have fun visiting many quilt stores in Southwest Nebraska.
