PAPILLION, Nebraska -- Alan Roger Fitch, 71, died at the Papillion Manor in Papillion, Nebraska on Sunday (June 10, 2012).

He was born at Oxford, Nebraska on May 23, 1941, to Faber and Venice (Taylor) Fitch. He attended school in Oxford. In 1959, he joined the US Air Force Reserve. He later went on active duty being discharged from service in 1963. He was stationed in Germany.

He was employed as an auto mechanic his entire life. He married Billvia G. Odell on July 23, 1966. The couple moved to Houston, Texas, in 1967, where he was offered a job. Upon retirement, he moved back to Nebraska, living in Holdrege for several years before moving to the Omaha area to be near family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billvia, brother, Kenneth Fitch, and one sister-in-law.

He is survived by two daughters, Tamra and husband, Michael Lenz of Pinehurst, Texas and Cherilee and husband, Doug Perkins of Brenham, Texas; sister, Phyllis Bennett of Loveland, Colorado; four brothers, Norman of Omaha; Lester and wife, Barbara of Omaha; Jerry and wife, Caroline of Commerce City, Colorado and Charles of Loveland, Colorado; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge, Nebraska, with Kieth Theobald officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
