MAYWOOD, Nebraska -- Regina (Jeanie) I. Eisenhauer, age 69, of Maywood, Nebraska, died May 31, 2012 at her home in Maywood.
Jeanie was born on May 15, 1943, to Richard B. Cox and Rita L. Bates, of Maywood.
She grew up in Maywood, graduating from Maywood High with the class of 1961. She then attended Grand Island School of Business and began working for State Farm Insurance as well as Shirley's Store in Maywood.
Jeanie married Gene Eisenhauer in Stockville, Nebraska, on Feb. 22, 1985. In the early 1990's, Jeanie earned her CNA degree and began working at Sunset Haven in Curtis, Nebraska. In 2005, the couple purchased the local grocery store; which is now Village Market.
Jeanie graciously served her community as an EMT and community volunteer. She liked people and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to work the crossword puzzles in the North Platte Telegraph, as well as to fish and read. Jeanie was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Curtis.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Eisenhauer of Maywood; son, Rod Schleeman of Maywood; daughter, Lori and husband Casey Meyer of Maxwell, Nebraska; son, Stacy and wife, Karen Eisenhauer of Farnam, Nebraska: son, Chris and wife, Jenny Eisenhauer of Austin, Texas; brother, Delson and wife, Karen Ann Cox of Aurora, Nebraska; and sister, Mae Annette and husband, Bill Schnase of Omaha, Nebraska. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Daniel Schleeman; grandson, Jacob Daniel; and brother, Richard C. Cox.
Rosary will be Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 7 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis with Rev. Harlan Waskowiak officiating. Interment will follow in the Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, Nebraska.
