Leah Rose Welborn Warner

A memorial service celebrating the life of Leah Rose Welborn Warner will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church with inurnment to follow at the Lebanon Cemetery.

Mrs. Warner passed away on her 96th birthday Aug. 7, 2011, in Florida after a period of declining health. She was born on a farm between Lebanon and Wilsonville, the fifth of 11 children born to Lawrence and Auretta Welborn. She was valedictorian of the class of 1933 of Lebanon High. She attended one year at McCook College before marrying her husband, Dale Warner. They were married 62 years at his death. After marrying, the couple moved first to Virginia, later to California and eventually to Tampa, Florida, in 1952.

Leah is survived by her children, Nancy Daffer, Zephyrhills, Florida, Dennis Warner Sr. (Kay), Ocala, Florida, Brad Warner, Oldsmar, Florida and daughter-in-law Jane Warner, Cedartown, Georgia; 13 grandchldren, 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Auretta Parker, Littleton, Colorado and sister-in-law, Marilyn Welborn, Fairbault, Minnesota and many other relatives.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Blair Warner; her son-in-law, Stanley Daffer; four brothers, Russell, Gilbert, Carl and RexWelborn and five sisters, Rene Cressman, Arlene Elmer, Lucile Gragg, Winnie Kotschwar and Joyce Welborn. Services provided by Lockenour Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
