Golda Lucile (Roller) Zwickle

TRENTON, Nebraska -- Golda Zwickle, 85, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton, Nebraska.

Golda was born March 7, 1927, in Palisade, Nebraska to Frank and Bessie Eliza (Henderson) Roller. Golda married Harry Zwickle on Sept. 20, 1946.

She was a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt to many. They lived most of their life in their life in the McCook area, with short time spent in the Herndon, Kansas area. She will be remembered to her family for her "Potato Salad" and to others for homemade cinnamon rolls. Some may or may not remember when she worked at Hested's at the lunch counter and made her cinnamon rolls.

Golda worked at Electric and Rubber Company (also known as Dayco) until she retired. She came out of retirement and drove the Fugi Film Van, taking film to be developed. She got replaced with technology and digital pictures.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Zwickle, in 1970; parents; brother, Clifford Roller; sister, Lila Williams; infant sister, Shirley Ann Starkey, brothers-in-law and sisters-in law.

Golda is survived by son, Michael Zwickle; stepson, Gary Zwickle, both of McCook, and daughter, Dianna and husband, LeRoy Meissner of Culbertson; six grandchildren, Todd Zwickle of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Travis Zwickle and wife, Kelli of McCook, Randy Zwickle and wife, Chris of McCook, Roseanne Ahlemeyer and husband, Jeff of Wilsonville, Nebraska, Sherri Van Pelt and husband, Travis of Indianola, Nebraska, Shauna Veronee and husband, Tony of McCook; 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends from Vicki's Cafe inMcCook.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Terry McCorkle officiating. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation was at Herrmann Funeral Home Sunday from 1 to 6 pm.and Mondav until 8 p.m. Memorials may be given in her name and left at the funeral home.
