McCOOK, Nebraska -- Memorial United Methodist Church, Community Hospital and the McCook Ed Thomas YMCA are joining forces to support two causes Saturday, May 19.

The hospital and YMCA are hosting a 5K and half marathon run/walk in support of the American Cancer Society, at East 11th and J, north of the hospital, with registration at 7 a.m., while the Methodists host a Change the World Walkathon in Norris Park from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., in support of "No More Malaria."

Registered runners and walkers of the Community Hospital and YMCA run/walk will have an opportunity to purchase Imagine No More Malaria bracelets for $10. This donation will buy a family a net, which could save a life. And registered Imagine No More Malaria Walkers will have the opportunity to buy HOPE bracelets for $5 with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society which is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
