Agency wins rehab grants
LINCOLN, Nebraska --The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded $79,791 HOME funding to Community Action Partnership of Mid-NE (Mid) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Kearney, to undertake a Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program.
Four homeowners earning at or below 80 percent of the median area income and living in Frontier, Furnas, Gosper and Red Willow counties will receive services that may include bringing homes up to electrical, safety, and construction codes; lead paint abatement; roofing, siding, windows, painting, heating, insulation, and some interior modeling.
Mid is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, Assistive Technology Partnership, the Lead Hazard Control (if available), and the Weatherization Assistance Program.
During the past ten years, Mid has completed OOR projects in the communities of Nelson, Red Cloud, Harvard and Franklin, and counties of Franklin, Webster, Gosper, Buffalo, Harlan, Kearney, Phelps, Frontier, Furnas and Red Willow.
