BIRD CITY, Kansas -- Douglas Henry Hempler, 62, died Tuesday, (April 24, 2012), at Bird City.

He was born May 10, 1949, in St. Francis, Kansas.

He was a farmer.

Survivors include his sisters, Marsha Batt of Kewaunee, Wisconsin, and Sharon Hempler of Redman, Washington.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 28, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bird City. Inurnment will be at the Bird City Cemetery.

No visitation, cremation was chosen.

Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis is in charge of arrangements.
