AUSTRALIA -- Kenneth W. Carpenter, 83, died Saturday (April 14, 2012), at Casino, NSW, Australia.
He was born April 23, 1928, at Oxford, Nebraska to Kenneth E. and M. Fern (Tower) Carpenter. He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1948 and attended the University of Nebraska for one year before returning to Arapahoe to marry Dolores A. Olmsted on Oct. 9, 1949, and continue in the life of agriculture of his family.
In 1969, Kenny and Dolores moved with their four children to Australia and pursued agriculture in that country. On Nov. 3. 1978 he married Margaret Peacey of Moree, N.S.W. and eventually retired in Casino, N.S.W.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Warren Mark; infant granddaughter, Bernadette; his parents and siblings, Barbara Mayfield, Joanne Brown, and Peggy Shoemaker.
He is survived by his four children, Scott and wife, Elizabeth of Parks Falls, Wisconsin, Lee and wife, Annie of Scone, NSW, Australia, Ward and wife, Jill of Arapahoe, Nebraska and Gail Bass of McCook, Nebraska; four step-children, Timothy Peacey, Bradley Peacey, Leanne Cadman, and Jacqueline Stevens, all of Australia; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of friends on both continents.
Funeral services will be at the Church of England, Casino, N.S.W. on Thursday April 19, 2012; burial to follow at Casino Cemetery.
