Leadership training at MCC

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

McCook Community College is giving students a free chance to learn about student leadership on two consecutive Tuesdays this month.

B.L.A.S.T is an internal student leadership training course which stands for "Believe," 'Lead," "And" "Serve" "Together." The B.L.A.S.T sessions are set for Tuesday April 10 and Tuesday April 17 from 11 a.m.-noon in room 230 of Walsh-Brady Hall.

Instructors Lorrie Mowry and Crystal Evans will help students understand what leadership looks like, how to identify their personal strengths and values, an explain how to identify/overcome barriers in the development of their leadership skills.

"This will be a great event for our students to attend," said Andrea Soden, Area Activities Specialist, and Administrative Assistant for MPCC Student Life.

She said if students want to bring a bagged lunch that is acceptable since it is around the noon hour.
