BSB Construction of Curtis starts the dirt work that marks the construction of the new Frenchman Valley Coop grain elevator facility and train loop track a mile west of Culbertson, Nebraska. Friday morning, Ronnie Williams of Curtis drove the water truck, following Casey Howard of Wauneta in the tractor pulling the disc. Jim Bott operated the grade, while farther south, George Henderson ran an excavator and Sherry Bott drove a dump truck. Adams Construction of Arapahoe will be on site this month to begin work int the area of the rail loop. The facility will handle inbound grain in excess of 30,000 bushels an hour and outbound grain at 50,000 bushels an hour. It will be capable of loading a 110-car shuttle train in less than 15 hours. The loop track will accommodate 120 rail cars, which will have access to both Burlington Northern Santa Fe and NKC rail lines.
