McCOOK, Nebraska -- Dorothy Evelyn "Tomi" Fjelseth passed away April 2, 2012, in McCook, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dorothy Evelyn Thompson on July 22, 1927 to Timothy and Rachel (Geeting) Thompson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945. Tomi married Clarion Fjelseth in 1946. They were blessed with three sons, Jeff, Dave, and Mark. After leaving Sioux Falls, the family resided in Gillette, Wyoming for 30 years. Tomi moved to Denver, Colorado for a few years and finally moved to Nebraska in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Darlene; and brother, Don.
She is survived by her sons Jeff Fjelseth (Sally Fjelseth), Dave Fjelseth (Carol Blackman) and Mark Fjelseth; her five grandchildren, Tia Knapp (Chris Knapp), Amanda Eckhoff (Colin Eckhoff), Sarah Joseph (Lijo Joseph), Bryan Fjelseth and Robyn Fjelseth; four great-grandchildren, Myranda Knapp, Bryce Eckhoff, Aliciya Eckhoff, Mariah Knapp, Jasmine Eckhoff, and Rohan Joseph.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2012, from 1-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Friends may extend condolences to the family at www.carpenterbreland.com.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 6, 2012, 11 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Hills Cemetery at Indianola.
