CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Charlene Cheryl Foster, age 62, of Cambridge, died at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 26, 2012.
She was born in McCook, Nebraska, on Aug. 26, 1949, to Clarence and Pauline (Lamb) Shatto. Charlene attended and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1967.
Charlene was united in marriage to John Foster in 1972. They raised three children: Thomas, Linnea and Tristan. Charlene worked for the Gambles Store, the Cambridge Locker and for 20 years at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper and supervisor. Charlene became a care taker in their home for her husband when he became sick.
Charlene enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. Charlene was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Charlene is survived by her husband. John of Cambridge; daughter, Linnea and husband, Travis John of Gering; two sons, Thomas of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tristan of Kearney, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Raegan, Foster and Jaxie; brother, Paul and wife, Pat Shatto of Bushnell, Florida.
Funeral service will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sherry Sklenar officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.
Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
