Piecemakers Quilt Guild will award cash prize for best quilt
McCOOK, Nebraska -- The Piecemakers Quilt Guild met at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Friday, March 9, 2012.
Theresea Reeves presented a lesson on English Paper Piecing. There was a surprise baby shower for member, Julie Stahly.
At the afternoon meeting it was announced that the Piecemakers Quilt Guild will give a $25 cash award and ribbon to the best quilt from the six counties in Southwest Nebraska at the Nebraska State Fair. The counties included are Dundy, Hitchcock, Red Willow, Chase, Hayes, and Frontier.
The National Quilting Day celebration is being held on March 17, 2012 at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. There will be continuous demonstrations on all three floors, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be four lectures in the Seminar Room on the 1st floor beginning at 9am. It is sponsored by Lincoln Quilters Guild, Nebraska State Quilt Guild, Handi Quilter, and Sew Creative. There is free admission.
The next meeting will be Friday, April 6, 2012 beginning at 9 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 312 Seminole Drive in McCook. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to attend.
