McCOOK, Nebraska -- Jimmie "Jim" Gerald Bauer died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at the Waverly Care Center in Waverly, Nebraska at the age of 72.

He was born Oct. 8, 1939, in McCook, Nebraska to Jack and Edna Bauer.

Jim grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook Sr. High in 1957. On March 3, 1962, Jim married Sandra Henry.

Following graduation, Jim began working for Shores before being employed by Automotive in the small engine department where he remained for 10 years before starting his own business known as Outdoor Power Equipment that he owned and operated for over 30 years.

Due to a stroke in 2002 that left him partially paralyzed, he has spent the remainder of his life in Nebraska Care Facilities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandra on Feb. 12, 2011.

Jim is survived by two daughters, Tamara and husband, Randall Taylor of Phoenix Arizona, Tawna and husband, Brad Shirley of Maywood, Nebraska and one son, Jacob Bauer and wife, Rebecca, two grandchildren, Jordan and Kayden; one sister, Jeannette and husband, Dave Ferguson of Corpus Christie, Texas.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook. Friends may sign his book at the funeral home during regular business hours.
