McCOOK, Nebraska -- Earnest E. Huff, 79, died Tuesday (Feb. 14, 2012), at McCook, Nebraska.
He was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Norcatur, Kansas on the family farm to Vance and Erma (Zimmerman) Huff. He attended Spring Branch county school and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1952. He served in Vashon Island while in the U.S. Army. He farmed near Norcatur until moving to McCook, Nebraska. He married Donna McClure on Oct. 25, 1953, in Oberlin, Kansas.
He was a Jehovah Witness and a member of the Grant Township Trustee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Larry Huff and brother-in-law, Carl Strauss.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Huff of McCook; sons, Elden and Charissa Huff of Lebanon, Nebraska, David Huff of West Point, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Strauss of Grand Junction, Colorado and Billie and Rex Morton of Sahuarta, Arizona; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Services are Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, 1 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with Don Arabright officiating. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials may be given to the Decatur Health Systems of Hillcrest Nursing Home.
