William Frerichs

McCOOK, Nebraska --William Henry Frerichs, age 83, passed away on Jan. 20, 2012, at the Golden Living Center, Cozad, Nebraska, only 3 months after having been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

William was born Jan. 17, 1929, to William and Mabel Frerichs in McCook, Nebraska. After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1953, he began his career as an automobile salesman, working for Brad Dolan, Bob Cobb Pontiac, Les Snowden, and Lee Janssen Motors.

On Jan. 26, 1968, he married Rosalie Harmacek and to this union five children were born.

William is survived by his wife, daughter, Julie Nelson and husband, of Minneapolis, Minnestoa; son, Steven, at home; son, Jonathan Frerichs and wife, of Omaha, Nebrasla; and two grandchildren, Ruby and Champ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers, four sisters, one daughter, Susan, and infant son.

Also surviving are his three sisters, Thelma Moorhous of Culbertson, Nebraska; Doris Popp of Colby, Kansas; and Emma Nelson of Yuba City, California.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carpenter-Breland is in charge of arrangements.
