GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (AP) -- A woman from Trenton, Neb., died after her car plunged into a pond in an industrial park area in suburban Denver.

Greenwood Village Police Department officials Friday identified the woman as 69-year-old Jean L. Madsen.

The Denver Post (http://bit.ly/xwbmVZ ) quotes police as saying Madsen was visiting her son, who lives in Highlands Ranch. She was last seen at an appointment at 4 p.m. Thursday and was reported missing by her son when she failed to return. A passer-by reported seeing the roof of a car in the pond early Friday.

It's not known how long the car was in the pond. The accident remains under investigation.
