Weta M. Ross

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Weta M. Ross, 90, died Tuesday (Jan. 3, 2012), at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Claritta, Oklahoma on March 26, 1921 to Grover C. and Dora E. (Crossno) Danner. She grew up in Texas and New Mexico. On April 25, 1943, she married Gerald B. "Barney" Ross at Bovina, Texas. He preceded her in death in Dec. 27, 1991. The couple lived several places before settling in Cambridge.

She worked in the Cambridge school cafeteria, later for the Cambridge Manor for 14 ½ years. She also babysat for numerous families in Cambridge over the years.

She was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Saving Place Church of Cambridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Barney;" three brothers, Damon, Curtis and Justin Danner; three sisters, Lorraine Cockerham; Jean Skaja and Pat Weeks.

Survivors include two sons, Mike and wife, Judy of Bartley; Tom and wife, Joan of Onawa, Iowa; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services are Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, 2 p.m. at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, with the Rev. Scott Moyer officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge. Casket will be closed to the public.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Weta's name to the Ronald McDonald House of Sioux City, Iowa. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
