Karin L. Kotschwar

LINCOLN, Nebraska -- Karin L. Kotschwar, 61, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln.

She was born Feb. 12, 1950 to Vernon "Bud" and Cecelia (Hickert) Kotschwar. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School, McCook Senior High and McCook Community College. She also attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln

She was the first woman cab driver for five years in Lincoln and for 30 years, a computer programmer at Experian Forever. She read for the blind, was an AITP regional president of the Cornhusker chapter, Toastmaster member and neighborhood and homeowner association member. She helped start a library in Arnold Heights in Airpark, Lincoln.

She is preceded in death by her father, Vernon Kotschwar.

Survivors include her mother, Cecelia Kotschwar; sisters, Diane and Leo Miller of Lincoln, Joanne and Tom Bernard of Grand Island, Marian and Barry Richards of Hayes Center; brothers, Ronald and Sheryl Kotschwar, Michael and Sandy Kotschwar, Alan and Jeannine Kotschwar, all of McCook, Timothy and Connie Kotschwar of Minden, and extended family members.

Inurnment will be Saturday, ;Jan. 7, 2012. Rosary will be at 10 a.m., followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in McCook.
