COLBY, Kansas -- Ardis M. (Smith) Boersma, 95, formerly of Bird City, Kansas, died Saturday (Nov. 5, 2011) at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kansas.

She was born Nov. 6, 1915 at Cheyenne County, Kansas. She was a retired elementary school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boersma in 1973.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Parks of Colby; brother, Dean Smith of Bird City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, 1:30 p.. CST at the Immanuel United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at the Bird City Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the church or agency of your choice.

No visitation as cremation was chosen.
