David John Bowers

ST. FRANCIS, Kansas --David John Sowers, 56, died Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2011), at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado.

He was born Feb. 4, 1955, in Oakley, Kansas.

He was a farmer/rancher.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Marene Sowers.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa (Schulp) Sowers of St. Francis; daughters, Heather Sowers of Colby, Kansas and Hannah Sowers of Post, Texas; brothers, Dan Sowers of Bird City, Kansas and Steve Sowers of Imperial, Nebraska; sister, Sara Schields of Austin Texas; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. CDT at Living Water Fellowship Church in Bird City. Burial will be at Cheyenne Valley Cemetery in Wheeler, Kansas.

Visitation is Friday from 1-7 p.m. CDT at Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dave Sowers Memorial Fund.

Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis is in charge of arrangements.
