WAUNETA, Nebraska -- Carolyn Kay Roschewski Anderson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April 2011 and passed away at home on Sept. 26, 2011, at the age of 71.

Carolyn was born on Dec. 25, 1939, at Imperial, Nebraska to William J. and Hilda M. (Fortkamp) Roschewski. Carolyn spent her entire life in the Wauneta community.

Carolyn grew up on the south divide and was baptized at the St Paul's Lutheran Church on Jan. 28, 1940 and was confirmed at St Paul's Lutheran Church on March 29, 1953. Carolyn's confirmation verse: "For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." (Isaiah 54-10)

Carolyn attended St Paul's parochial school for seven years and in the spring of 1953 Carolyn with her family moved to a farm east of Wauneta and she finished her last year of grade school in the Wauneta School District. Carolyn attended Wauneta High School graduating with the Class of 1958.

On Oct. 19, 1958, Carolyn was united in marriage to Ted Anderson. Ted and Carolyn have spent almost 53 years of marriage together. To this union three children were born, Cleve of Wauneta, Todd of Grand Island and Frank of Hamlet.

Carolyn had a very, very strong faith in God. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and play Phase 10 Cards. Carolyn took command of the hog farm while her husband Ted was at his job. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Roschewski, and nephew Anthony Roschewski.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Ted, son Cleve and daughter-in-law Brenda, son Todd and daughter-in-law Cindy and son Frank; sister Elaine Jones and husband, Walter of Skiatook, Oklahoma; brother Danny Roschewski and wife, Sharla of Imperial, Nebraska and sister-in-law Elaine Roschewski of Palisade, Nebraska; five grandchildren: grandson Shane and wife, Lindsay of Hickman, Nebraska, grandson Shelby and wife, Katie of McCook, Nebraska, grandson Noah of Grand Island, Nebraska, granddaughter Tiffany and husband Bob Ochsner of St Francis, Kansas, granddaughter Symphony of Grand Island; three great grandchildren: great granddaughter Kiley Anderson, great grandson Parker Anderson and great grand daugher Leighton Anderson; plus numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many many friends.

Funeral Services will be Friday, Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m.(MT) at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta, with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, Nebraska.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, 2 -- 6 p.m.. (MT) at the funeral home in Wauneta.

A memorial has been established to the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta and KNGN Radio.
