BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Douglas R. Kohn, 75, died Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2011), at McCook, Nebraska.

He was born Feb. 19, 1936 at Holdrege, Nebraska to Oris and Louise (Clawson) Kohn.

He graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1953. He served in the Air Force as a policeman from 1958 until 1961. Following discharge he returned back to Beaver City where he was an "over-the-road" truck driver.

He was a member of First Christian Church and the VFW in Beaver City and also belonged to the Disabled Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include sister, Rose Marie and husband, Duaine Garrison of Norton, Kansas; one nephew, three nieces, and multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Sievering, of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City. He requested no military honors and the family is honoring his request.

Viewing and visitation will be Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska from 9 a..m. until 8 p.m. and prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
