McCOOK, Nebraska -- David Wayne Jordan, age 82, of McCook, Nebraska passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in Kearney, Nebraska.
David was born July 11, 1929, in Bedis, Texas to James Hall and Natie Irene (Tucker) Jordan. David was the youngest of eight children.
David joined the United States Army during the Korean conflict and honorably served his country until being discharged on May 5, 1952.
David married Leota Cochran on Sept, 4, 1953, in Oberlin, Kansas. To this union two children were born, Randy and Nora.
David was a member of the Egan Park Baptist Church and the McCook Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and refinishing antique children's toys. He especially loved coaching baseball and softball. David taught G.E.D. classes at McCook Community College.
David was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Bonnie Pearl, Bertha, Irene and Dorothy; and three brothers, Roy, A.G. and Cecil.
David is survived by his wife, Leota of McCook, Nebraska; daughter, Nora Powell of Omaha, Nebraska; and son, Randy and wife, Darla Jordan of McCook, Nebraska. Also surviving are grandchildren Jody and husband, Sean Kelly of Bartley, Nebraska; David and wife, Heather Jordan of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jesse Jordan of Overland Park, Kansas; Randy F. Jordan of McCook, Nebraska; Michael Jordan of McCook, Nebraska; Clay and wife, Bryn and their children Jaxyn, and Corbyn Jordan of Loomis, Nebraska and Jordan Powell of Omaha, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home in McCook, Nebraska with Pastor Gary Howitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Oberlin cemetery.
