OMAHA, Nebraska -- John R. Gage, 47, of Omaha formerly of Kearney, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, in Omaha.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. The Revs. Gary Main and Carla Gunn will officiate. A time to visit with family will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at the Kearney Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the building fund at First United Methodist Church in Kearney.

John Richard Gage was born on September 19, 1963 at Saint Catherine's Hospital in McCook, Nebraska to Rodger and Colleen (Newman) Gage.

John received his Elementary and Secondary Education in the Kearney Public School system in Kearney, Nebraska. John continued his education receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Fort Hayes State College in Hayes Kansas.

At the time of his passing John was employed as an Engineering Manager in the Coatings Division of Valmont Industries in Valley Nebraska.

John was very fond of his family; he especially enjoyed his Nieces and Nephews. He considered them as his own children as he had none of his own. John was a very kind, loving person. John had a special love for his Sister, Roxanne his Brothers Dirk and Brent and his Brother and Sisters in Law.

John leaves behind parents Rodger and Colleen Gage of Kearney, his sister Roxanne and Her husband Don of Columbus, Nebraska, His brothers Dirk Gage and his wife Paula of Overland Park, Kansas and his other brother Brent Gage and his wife Andrea of Birmingham Alabama. John will be greatly missed by his four Nephews and five Nieces and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
