Raymond Rose

LINCOLN, Nebraska -- The Lord took Raymond Rose, 76, after a long fight with Alzheimer's on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lambert and Georgianna Rose, Erin Rose, Donald Rose, Gilbert Rose and Laverne Rose.
Raymond was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Lambert and Georgianna and is survived by his high school sweet heart of 59 years, Ardyce Ruth (Hanson) Rose and his siblings Cecilia, Caroline and Clearance. His children include Rayleen Rose-Messinger of Lincoln, Nebraska, Craig and Cyndia Rose of Lantana, Texas, Dennis and Nina Rose of Denver, Colorado, and Doug and Lorrie (Rose) Orman of Lincoln, Nebraska. His family also includes grandchildren: Carrie McKenzie, Hollie Messinger, Ashley Snodgrass, Travis Rose, Sharlie Lattimer, Seth Rose, Jacob Rose, Erin Rose, Levi Orman, Korrie Orman, Mollie Orman, and Alena Rose. His family also includes nine great-grandchildren.
Raymond moved to McCook, Nebraska in 1964 where he raised his family and remained until his retirement. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 23 years prior to owning a coin business, Ray's Coins & Stamps, in McCook.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Services will be Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, 10 a.m., in Red Cloud, Nebraska at Williams Funeral Home with internment immediately following at Red Cloud Cemetery.
