Elmer D. 'Dale' Lantis

FORT COLLINS, Colorado -- Elmer D. "Dale" Lantis, 79, died Monday (Aug. 15, 2011), at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1932, in Franklin County, Nebraska, to Elmer and Bernice (Strong) Lantis. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
On July 14, 1962, he married Kathleen Morrissey on July 14, 1962 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was a mechanical engineer, working for United Engineering, JPL, Ralph M. Parsons Company and most recently, Clark Construction. He had lived in Fort Collins since 1981, moving there from Calgary, Canada.
He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Edward.
Survivors include his son, Elmer E. Lantis of Fort Collins; and a sister, Beulah Gerdes of Holdrege, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment is at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Resthaven Funeral Home.
