OBERLIN, Kansas -- Luella Irene Overmiller, 80, died Wednesday (Aug. 3, 2011) at Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin, Kansas.
She was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Bloomington, Nebraska, to Charles and Myrtle (Hauble) Greening. She was raised on a farm near Bloomington. She attended Naponee, Nebraska High School and college in Kearney.
On Dec. 17, 1950, she married Myron Dale Overmiller in Smith Center, Kansas. The couple lived in Smith Center until 1960 when they moved to Oberlin.
She worked as a secretary at the Decatur County Health Department. She was a member of the Lioness Club, Sappa Valley Antiques and EMS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; sister, Mary Greening; and grandson, Casey Overmiller.
Survivors include her sons, Gene and wife, Deborah Overmiller of Goodland, Kansas, and Lynn Overmiller of Oberlin; brothers, Howard Greening of Alma, Nebraska; sisters, Velma Snow of Phillipsburg, Kansas, and Lela and husband, Richard Randall of Republican City, Nebraska; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Linda Wiley officiating. Interment is in Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, 8 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
