Anetta Faye Knapp

NORTON, Kansas -- Anetta Faye Knapp, 72, formerly of Norcatur, Kansas, died Thursday (July 28, 2011) at Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas.
She was born Aug. 20, 1938, on a farm southwest of Norcatur, Kansas, to Harry W. Smith and Alma L. Rist. She was raised on the farm southwest of Norcatur. She attended country school and graduated from Norcatur Rural High School.
She lived in Oklahoma, Germany and in Norcatur before moving to Norton.
On Nov. 5, 1958, she married Floyd Knapp Jr. in Beaver City, Nebraska. She worked as a housewife, USD 211 bus driver and as a cook at Cardinal Cafe.
She was a member of Norcatur United Methodist Church, Three Prairie Unit and Royal Neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; son, David Leroy Knapp; sisters, Vera Van Gundy, Ethel Miller and Clara Smith; and great-grandson, Brett Barlow.
She is survived by her sons, Marty and wife, Sharon of Lenora, Kansas, and Rex and wife, Lydia Knapp of Norcatur, Kansas; daughters, Levonne and husband, Frank Otter of New Almelo, Kansas, and Betty Knapp of Manhattan, Kansas; sister-in-law, Agnes Rodenbaugh of Norton, Kansas; seven grandchildren; five great-granchildren.
The family is having a private family service at Norcatur Cemetery. Interment is in Norcatur Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Norcatur Citizens Alliance for the school roof.
