Remembering September 11

Filming has begun for the locally-produced video which will be shown at the Fox Theatre on the tenth anniversary of 9-11. The video production, commissioned by McCook National Bank, will feature veterans of military service and first responders from the McCook Area. Among the first to be filmed is Dan Stramel, above, a Marine corporal who served from 1973 to 1976. Dan will tell the story of his father, 1st Lt. Ray Stramel, who was decorated for heroism for his actions at the Battle of Pelelieu in 1944. The filming is being done by Cody Dame, the owner-manager of Divine Productions.
