ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Larry James Moore, 64, died Saturday (July 23, 2011) at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 4, 1946, to John and Naola (Willcox) Moore in Kingman, Kansas. He graduated high school from Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Nebraska.

On April 1, 1968, he married Sheila Rae Vanek in Belleville, Kansas. In 1971, he began working for Adams Construction of Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was a scraper operator for sometime, and then was promoted to foreman. He would remain with Adams Construction until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marla Sue; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Williams and Ed Hueser.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Moore of Arapahoe; daughter, Kimberly and husband, Kevin Herbert of Arapahoe; son, Scott and wife, Angie Moore of Arapahoe; sisters, Shirley Williams of Kearney, Nebraska, Karol Moore of Hastings, Nebraska, and Judy Hueser of Kearney; brothers, Mike and wife, Bobbi Moore, Terrance and wife, Patricia Moore, Jeffry and wife, Lori Moore, and Patrick Moore, all of Arapahoe, and Roger Moore of Oshkosh, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren Moore.

Funeral services are Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Melody Adams officiating. Interment is at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe.

Viewing and visitation is Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the service at the church.
