McCOOK, Nebraska -- Sarah Anne (McPhillips) Cobb, 24, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.

Sarah was born on Sept. 2, 1986, in Heidelberg, Germany to Owen J. and LaVonne (Bursaw) McPhillips. She graduated from McCook High School in 2004, continued on to McCook Community College graduating with an associate's degree in fine arts. She then attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney for a year before attending and graduating from Joseph's School of Beauty in Kearney, Nebraska. Sarah worked as a cosmetologist at Cost Cutters in Kearney.

Sarah loved to draw freehand, charcoal being her favorite media to use. She also loved her many tattoos and piercings. Sarah also enjoyed traveling.

Sarah is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Owen F. and Josephine McPhillips; maternal grandparents, Buzz and Mary Bursaw; and best friend, Charlie Greene.

She is survived by her parents, Owen and LaVonne McPhillips of McCook; brother, Marc and wife, Jessica Brandt of McCook; sister, Amanda and husband, Mike Chipman of Kearney; aunts and uncles, Bob and Mary Bursaw of Andover, Minnesota, and their children, David and Katy, Steve and Cindy Bursaw of Columbus, Ohio, and his children, Steven and Heather Bursaw, and Michael and Christine Bursaw, Kathy Sjoquist of Minnesota, and Bestie Andrew Howell of Kearney; nieces, Morgan Degley, Natasha Brandt, Hope Wade and Priscilla Vigil; special pets, Cricket, Kins and Rusty; numerous family and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation is at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, on Sunday, July 24, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. with family present.

Services are at First Congregational Church of McCook, on Monday, July 25, 2011, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Steve Breazier and Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
