CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Leona W. Rosier, 93, died Sunday (July 17, 2011) at Cambridge Manor in Cambridge.

She was born May 14, 1918, to Frank and Hazel (Hart) Wight, north of Bartley on the family farm. She graduated from Bartley High School in 1935 and then attended Kearney State Teachers College. She returned to the area and taught elementary and adult education classes.

On Oct. 19, 1940, she was united in marriage to Vernon Rosier in Marysville, Missouri. The couple farmed on the Rosier home place. She continued to teach and take classes at Kearney State receiving he bachelor's degree in 1969.

She was a member of the Kemper United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She also worked after retirement as the librarian at the Bartley Library in Bartley, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon in 2003; brother, Francis Hart; and one sister, Joyce Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen and husband, Ron Hansen of Bartley; one son, Kenneth and wife, Jackie Rosier of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Virginia Tallman of La Habra, California; one brother, Allen Wight of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Wednsday, July 27, 2011, 11 a.m., at Kemper United Methodist Chruch in Bartley. There is a private family interment.
